Is NameHero a good web host?
A good three-year deal with a known renewal and a mixed uptime record. NameHero’s shared plans are better specified than most: NVMe storage in RAID 1, LiteSpeed, cPanel, jailed SSH, a migration done for you, and the cores and RAM of each plan printed on the page. The entry plan costs $2.91 a month for three years. The catches are the price after that, four times the sign-up figure, the absence of a monthly term on the two lower plans, and an eight-month independent window that measured 99.86 percent uptime. Everything below is a published fact we checked on 14 October 2026 or a gap we name.

Starter Cloud hosts one website with about 10,000 monthly visits on 25 GB of NVMe storage, 1 CPU core, 1 GB of RAM, 250,000 inodes, unlimited email accounts with a 1 GB mailbox quota and 50 outgoing emails an hour. Plus Cloud hosts seven sites with 50 GB, 2 cores, 2 GB of RAM and a 2 GB mailbox quota. Turbo Cloud lifts the limits to unlimited websites, 75 GB, 3 cores, 3 GB of RAM, 500,000 inodes, an unlimited mailbox quota and 350 emails an hour, and adds a free domain on the 24 or 36-month term, the security suite and LiteSpeed’s Turbo tier. Business Cloud has 100 GB, 4 cores and 4 GB of RAM, about 100,000 monthly visits and email filtering. Every plan includes cPanel, free and auto-renewing SSL, LiteSpeed Cache, QUIC.cloud CDN, jailed SSH, unlimited databases and FTP accounts, multiple PHP versions, nightly and weekly backups and a free migration. Offsite HeroVault backups with 30 days of retention are an add-on at $6.99 a month in the cart, as is the HeroGuard security bundle at $9.99.

The web hosting page prints three-year prices and the regular rate struck through beside each one; its footnote says the promotional price is for the first term only and renews at the regular rate. We walked the cart with a sample domain to read the other terms. Starter and Plus sell on 12, 24 and 36 months only: $3.56, $3.23 or $2.91 a month for Starter, renewing at $14.24, $12.94 or $11.64. Turbo and Business add a monthly term with an $8.95 setup fee: Turbo costs $13.63 a month that way, or $9.73, $8.95 or $7.78 on 12, 24 or 36 months, renewing at $38.94, $32.44, $29.84 or $25.94. The cart shows the renewal as a total, for example $418.86 for Starter’s second three years.
Three-year cost on the entry plan
| Route | Years 1 to 3 |
|---|---|
| 36 months up front | $104.76 |
| 12 months, then 24 at the renewal | $42.72 + $14.24 × 24 = $384.48 |
| Month to month | Not sold on Starter Cloud |
How do refunds work?
The payment policy gives a 30-day money-back guarantee on web hosting, reseller and VPS packages. The refund is the hosting fee minus the setup fee ($8.95 on shared and reseller hosting, $19.95 on VPS), limited to one per customer, and excludes domains, licences, migrations, dedicated IPs and other add-ons. A written refund request must be submitted separately from the cancellation within 31 days, refunds are sent within 31 days, and nothing is refunded on accounts closed for terms violations or paid by wire, Western Union, check or money order. The terms of service repeat the guarantee for first-time accounts only. All packages renew at the regular rate.
What is the infrastructure?
NameHero describes a virtualized cloud environment that gives each account its own partition with allocated resources, on NVMe drives in RAID 1 behind LiteSpeed. The about page lists three data centers, Lenexa in Kansas, London and Toronto, and details the Lenexa facility: 20 Gbps redundant fiber with seven named carriers, 2N UPS with flywheels, N+1 generators with 36 hours of fuel, an underground site with biometric access, and SOC 1, 2 and 3, PCI and ISO 27001 certifications. The web hosting page’s map places the Canadian site in Beauharnois, Quebec, and the plan cards show US, UK and Canadian flags, while the comparison table lists the US for every plan. The uptime page claims 99.9 percent website uptime, monitored by a 24/7 network operations team and Pingdom checks on every server; the terms we read set no service credit for falling short.
How fast and reliable is it?
Hostingstep bought Starter Cloud in 2022 and reports the eight months from 1 October 2025 to 31 May 2026 in its review updated on 22 July 2026: an average TTFB of 453 ms with monthly readings between 357 and 659 ms, falling below 450 ms after mid-January 2026; a global TTFB of 448 ms from 40 cities, split sharply into 175 ms across the Americas (Dallas 76 ms, Toronto 85 ms), 370 ms in Europe (London 326 ms) and 742 ms in Asia-Pacific (Mumbai 902 ms, Dubai 1,100 ms); and uptime of 99.86 percent, 92 outages and 7 hours 57 minutes of downtime, with five months at 99.99 percent and May 2026 at 99.60 percent. Its load test ramped 0 to 100 visitors over 60 seconds and averaged 257 ms, but responses rose from about 45 concurrent visitors and network errors appeared from about 80 in the final ten seconds.
Kripesh Adwani, on a Plus Cloud plan, reports 99.98 percent uptime over twelve months to November 2022 from BetterUptime checks every 30 seconds, a server response of 24 ms from the US East, 76 ms from the US West and 270 ms from Mumbai, a 733.67 ms page load from New York and 4.72 seconds from Bangalore, and a 50-user load test of 8,411 requests with a 220 ms average and no failures. The page is dated June 2026 but its uptime table stops in 2022, and its overview box prints 99.97 percent and 975 ms without explaining either.
We found no WPBeginner, HostScore, Cybernews or TechRadar review of NameHero. Read together: fast for American visitors, slow for Asian ones, and an uptime record that was clean in 2022 and below 99.9 percent in the most recent window.
How good is the support?
Chat and tickets from the “SuperHero” team 24/7, 365 per the about page, with Level III staff on tickets and a phone line at 1-855-984-6263 from 9 AM to 5 PM Central. A help center and migrations desk sit behind them. HostIdea has not timed a ticket yet; the support table on this page fills when we do.
Who owns NameHero, and where is it?
Name Hero, LLC, per the terms of service, founded in 2015 according to the about page, which describes the company as built by an experienced entrepreneur and grown by a global team. The privacy policy gives a postal address at 690 S Highway 89, Suite 200 in Jackson, Wyoming; the about page places its own data center in Lenexa, Kansas. Kripesh Adwani’s review names Ryan Gray as the founder. The site claims more than 40,000 customers and 750,000 websites.
What is missing or unclear?
- Whether the Canadian location is Toronto (about page) or Beauharnois (web hosting page), and whether Starter and Plus can be placed outside the US; the comparison table says US only.
- Any service credit for missing the 99.9 percent uptime claim; none in the terms or payment policy we read.
- The owner’s name on NameHero’s own pages.
- A monthly term on Starter or Plus; the cart offers none.
- HostIdea’s own monitoring, support timing and load testing have not started.
Who should choose NameHero, and who should wait?
Choose it if your visitors are in North America, you can pay three years up front and you want LiteSpeed, NVMe and real cores at the lowest price on this site for that spec. Starter Cloud on 36 months is the plan; Plus Cloud is the step up when one site becomes seven. Put the renewal date in your calendar: $11.64 a month is the price after.
Wait if you want a short term or a steadier uptime record. InterServer sells a flat $7 monthly plan; HostArmada prints similar resources with a 365-day independent record above 99.9 percent.
How we scored this review
The scores on this page are provisional. Performance rests on Hostingstep’s 453 ms US TTFB and regional split plus Kripesh Adwani’s 2022 figures. Uptime reflects 99.86 percent with 92 outages in the latest window against a clean 2022 record, with no contractual credit. Features credit NVMe, LiteSpeed, cPanel, stated resources, SSH, CDN, migration and three locations, and deduct for no staging and no free domain on the lower plans. Value credits the $2.91 entry and deducts for a fourfold renewal and no monthly term below Turbo. Support reflects three channels with daytime phone hours, not timed tickets. Each score will be recomputed when data exists, and the review history on this page will show the change.
