Best web hosting for Europe 2026: ten hosts ranked by EU and UK locations
Ten hosts ranked for European audiences by the EU and UK data centers you can choose at checkout, from each host's published locations, with plan contents as the tie-breaker.

No HostIdea monitoring window is open for these hosts yet. Uptime and response are published third-party measurements, one per host by a fixed rule (longest stated independent window, and its response figure or the most recent one); methods differ, so read them as a guide. Each review lists every source with its method.
Server location is the one hosting decision you cannot fix later with a plugin. This list ranks ten of the twenty-six hosts we cover on the European locations they let you choose at checkout, read from their data center pages on 13 and 14 October 2026, and then on what the plans include. GDPR applies wherever your visitors are; hosting inside the EU simplifies the data-transfer paperwork, which is why the EU locations are counted and the UK ones are listed separately.
Kinsta offers eight European cities, on managed WordPress plans from $30 a month. On shared hosting, SiteGround and Hostinger offer five locations each, FastComet three, and Verpex, HostArmada, AccuWeb and Namecheap two each; Flashcloud and ScalaHosting have one owned European location apiece. IONOS, a German company with its own European data centers, serves customers of its US site from Kansas with no location choice at checkout, so it is not ranked. The hosts with a single Amsterdam site (Pressable, DreamHost, KnownHost, Liquid Web, GreenGeeks, InMotion, HostPapa) and Cloudways, which places servers in European regions of five cloud providers, are listed under the hosts considered.

Does hosting in the EU make my site GDPR compliant?
No. GDPR is about how you handle personal data, not where the server sits. An EU server removes the need for transfer safeguards on the hosting itself, which is one item on a longer list.
For speed, yes: London to Paris or Amsterdam is a few milliseconds. For data-transfer rules, the UK has an EU adequacy decision, so transfers are permitted without extra safeguards at the time of writing.
